Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed the government to develop the concept of a forum on the metaverses
As part of this event, politicians will discuss cryptocurrency, its impact on the economy, as well as payment methods involving digital assets
On Tuesday, 25 January, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting with members of the Party equity and development (AKP). Among other things, politicians discussed the topic of cryptocurrencies and metaverses.
The Head of State instructed his party members to develop the concept of a forum on the metaverses. At the same time, the president intends to personally certify the result and take part in the event.
The key topics of the forum are cryptocurrencies, settlement methods in social networks, metauniverses and their integration into economic ecosystems.
The reason for this interest may be an increase in the level of demand for virtual lands that reflect the historical monuments of Turkey. The government believes that this poses a risk to the preservation of the national and cultural heritage of the state.
In addition, the Turkish fiat currency is rapidly losing value. Therefore, many citizens have turned to digital assets to protect their savings.
Details of the Metaverse forum in Turkey will be announced at a later date.
