- ISA Hosts Israel’s First Blockchain Hackathon
- It will be held in Tel Aviv with 24 on 25 March inclusive

At the end next month, 02- March , Tel Aviv will host the first blockchain hackathon. Its task is to attract developers and authors of various solutions that will modernize the infrastructure of the country’s securities and debt market.
The event is organized by the Israel Securities Authority (ISA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance. Also, private fintech companies VMware and Algorand were involved in the project.
One of the most significant participants in the hackathon is the QEDIT corporation. She will present best practices for identifying and eliminating problems with data security and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
The head of the regulator, Anata Guetta, says that the hackathon will be the first step towards the development of a comprehensive system for regulating the crypto industry. The agency hopes to attract professionals and international partners to exchange views and ideas in this field.
Ms. Guetta admits that ISA, as well as similar structures in other countries, are hopelessly behind the pace of development of the digital asset market. The hackathon is designed to slightly reduce this “chasm”.
So far, the head of the department is not ready to answer what the regulator’s course for managing cryptocurrencies will be, but the adoption of new rules is only a matter of time.
