Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law requiring election candidates to disclose information about their spending on the acquisition of digital financial assets (DFA) and digital currency.
23 March the document was adopted by the State Duma, on the same day it was approved by the Federation Council.
According to the new rules, candidates participating in elections are required to provide information about their expenses, as well as the expenses of spouses and minor children for each transaction for the acquisition of DFA and digital currency over the past three years, if the transaction amount exceeds the total income of the candidate and his wife (wife) for the three years preceding the transaction. Information about the sources of funds for such a transaction must also be provided.
The Law will enter into force 10 days after its official publication.
