Venezuelan Regulator To Charge Commission From Crypto Payments
National crypto currency and crypto-related activities regulator of Venezuela (Sunacrip) announced that new requirements to crypto currency transfers entered into force, reports Bitcoin.com referring to local media outlets.
According to it, the sender has to pay up to 15% of commission to Sunacrip. The commission amount is determined depending on the payment amount. The minimum commission amount is 0.25 Euros. Sunacrip may impose restrictions on crypto currency transfer amount, set crypto currency prices in bolivar, set the tariffs and request users’ data.
Monthly restriction on sending crypto currency transfers is set in Venezuelan state crypto currency, it is 10 Petro (PTR). Any other amount exceeding the specified one requires regulator’s approval (it may be increased to 50 PRT or $3000).
Local crypto community representatives say that new requirements are absurd and note that the government is trying to centralize a technology designed for other purposes.
