Ukrainian Cyber Police Arrested Suspect Who Allegedly Stole Crypto Worth $26,000
Ukrainian Cyber Police announced that Kiev region resident who worked at one of the crypto exchanges was accused of stealing Bitcoins and other altcoins worth 700.000 hrn (around $26,500).
According to Cyber police, the suspect was working in technical support of one of the British crypto exchanges that stays unnamed.
The stolen funds were used for gambling in virtual gambling slot machines.
The suspect is accused of unauthorized tampering in automated systems, computing and telecommunication network (Art. 361 of Criminal Code Of Ukraine) as well as of stealing (Art. 185 of Criminal Code Of Ukraine).
Cyber police is currently investigating the activity of exchange offices functioning in Ukraine that was used for withdrawal of stolen funds.
It is worth reminding that back in December, Ukrainian cyber police arrested the 22-year-old resident of Zaporozhye region who was spreading malware that was stealing personal data and crypto wallets information.
