Lossmaking Hardfork. How Much Have Miners Lost?
BitMEX analysts claim that the team of Bitcoin SV miners spends $325 000 daily.
BSV enthusiasts who mine cryptocurrency using Antminer S9 spend $325 000 every day. The relevant costs of BCHSV and electricity are 100 dollars and 5 cents for 1 kilo watt.
The employees of a research department of BitMEX crypto exchange also note that the “successes” of Bitcoin ABC are also followed by other losses: the miners got 25 blocks more than their competitors and lost $277,875.
According to the latest Bitmex Research data, while the BCHABC price is $261 and BCHSV price is $97, mining costs are $ 887,963 and $520,115 – it is not profitable to mine Bitcoin Cash in case of both versions now.
Craig Wright recently tweeted that he ABC team brought on their strongest sprinters and made a remarkable burst to do a 9.9 second 100m (unfortunately in the wrong direction).
To recap, a long-expected hard fork took place on November, 15th. BCash blockchain is divided into two parts now, and these blockchains started mining blocks of two coins called BCHABC and BCHSV. BCHABC got massive support of nodes and community – almost 75% of nodes launched ABC. However, BCHSV has almost 70% of hashrate of the previous blockchain.
