The Media: Twitter Removes Fake Accounts Created For Participation In Airdrop

Twitter started removing allegedly fake accounts created for participation in airdrop and bounty campaigns. Most of these accounts are subscribers of cryptocurrency projects. This is said in a research of Cryptopotato.
Thus, Binance cryptocurrency exchange’s accounts lost more than 3000 subscribers from October, 29th to November, 1st, Stratis project lost 850 subscribers, Ontology lost 240 subscribers, WePower’s account lose 800 followers (2,2%).
The study’s authors suppose that Twitter is doing it to fight against participants of airdrop- and bounty-campaigns who create fake accounts to make more profit.
To recap, the head of Twitter claimed that the company was studding the opportunities of using blockchain to fight against scammers.
In November, hackers advertised give-out of 10000 bitcoins via fake Twitter accounts of Elon Musk.
