Roger Ver Announced Plans To Launch His Own Cryptocurrency Exchange
Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver announced his plans to launch a cryptocurrency exchange. He will ether acquire an existing platform or find a partner to create a product, reports Bloomberg.
Known as one of the earliest bitcoin investors, Roger Ver is now one of the main promoters of Bitcoin Cash – an altcoin which was spun off from main bitcoin network in August, 2017 as a result of the hardfork which gave rise to controversy.
Bitcoin Cash is the forth (in terms of market cap) on CoinMarketCap list and is traded on most of popular exchanges. Nevertheless, the coin can’t boast of popularity, and now Roger Ver is planning to launch his own exchange where Bitcoin Cash will become the main currency.
He says that if the firm builds it on its own, it’ll cost cheap and they will get exactly what they want. However, according to him, they don’t have the security of a battle-tested exchange that’s been around for a while. Ver has also added that the exchange will be launched on Bitcoin.com and it will have “thousands or tens of thousands of new users every single day” due to this.
To recap, the site Bitcoin.com was severely criticized this year because it promoted Bitcoin Cash actively, positioning it as an “original” bitcoin and, in fact, misleading new users.
At one point, this almost lead to lodging a complaint against Roger Ver, and CoinMarketCap removed a link to Bitcoin.com from the page dedicated to the first cryptocurrency.
