Miners’ Income For 2018 is $4,7 Billion
Diar company has published a research, according to which cryptocurrency miners earned $4,7 billion during 2018.
They get 54 Btc monthly. Given the current Bitcoin rate — $6,568, it is about $355 million.
In addition, it is necessary to take into account income made on commissions for users’ transactions.
As a result, bitcoin mining has become more profitable by $1,7 billion compared with the income made during the same period last year.
But, as it is noted in the research, the situation is not simple for market players – even for such a giant as Bitmain who had to locate equipment in various countries. It is needed to reduce electricity costs.
In general, increase in electricity costs made mining less profitable then it was, as the report’s authors think.
Diar notes that the income of miners who mine small amount of cryptocurrencies has reduced to zero for the first time. Even major miners have made almost no income.
