ICO Projects Have Sold Almost 300,000 Ethereum Coins Over The Past 30 Days
Trustnodes reports that during the last ten days ICO projects have sold 160 000 ETH. In the past 30 days, they have sold 283,000 ETH worth over $50 million.
This amount is three times higher than it was in August. The fact that a significant increase in sales occurred in the last few days indicates the” full capitulation” of ICOs.
During August, ICO-startups sold from 1000 to 5000 ETH on the daily basis. Only a few times, the total number of sold coins exceeded 10 000.
The following month, the situation changed significantly, but not for the better for the cryptocurrency created by Vitalik Buterin. For example, on September 4, just before the actual collapse of the price, 82,000 Ethereum coins were sold. A few days later, on September 8, 28,000 ETH was sold. In the remaining days, 10,000 coins were averagely sold.
Trustnodes research is based on the service data from Santiment.
Before, the value of Ethereum assets, disposed by the project was estimated at $150 million, which significantly exceeds the current capitalization of the DigixDAO coin ($69.7 million).
The researchers are convinced that the current collapse in the price of the second largest cryptocurrency was significantly strengthened by the Digix project. It is noteworthy that the latter also eliminated a half of its own DGD tokens.
Trustnodes also notes that the Digix project sent 54,000 ETH to the Gemini exchange at once instead of selling coins during several months without putting too much pressure on the price of Ethereum.
