Opera to Add Cryptocurrency Wallet to its Desktop Browser
The company decided to do it after receiving positive response from community for an opportunity to store digital money in the mobile app. A cryptocurrency wallet will be added to Opera desktop browser, Bitcoin.com reports. The developers explained that positive response from community to the e-wallet built in a mobile version of the program was a reason for innovation.
Opera users won’t have to install special extensions to use digital money. It will be enough to connect the browser to the e-wallet with the help of QR-code. It will be possible to use smartphone to store private keys and manage cryptocurrency wallet. The users won’t have to enter the password to sign transactions; they can do it using a fingerprint swipe.
Beta version of Opera mobile cryptocurrency wallet was released in July. It supports Ethereum, ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721 collectible items. The list of supported cryptocurrencies may be expanded in the future.
The company is trying to implement innovative technologies to expand functionality of its software, said Opera representative. He noted that blockchain would play a pivotal role over the coming years and transform the Internet.
